The Lifelong Learning Education Center is the recommended first stop before pursuing any form of higher education. The Center offers education services, counseling and advising, test proctoring and remedial skills training in math, English and reading. Marines and Sailors on active duty may apply for military Tuition Assistance (TA) to pay for college tuition and fees.
The Education Center administers military classification testing (ASVAB, DLAB and DLPT) and online testing offered by Air Force Institute of Advance Distance Learning (AFIADL). The Education Center offers SAT and ACT college entrance examinations, as well as more than 200 national certifications and state licensing examinations through its Pearson VUE testing center. CRO offers transition assistance services (TAMP) for separating or retiring service members. CRO administers Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) training and certification and offers classes on resume writing and job interview techniques. They also host career fairs throughout the year. CRO works with the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans’ Affairs, providing counseling services and information on programs and benefits. All CRO programs are FREE!
The library offers magazine subscriptions, high-speed internet, computers, books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, video games and audio books, all for check-out to eligible patrons! The library offers fax and copy services at no charge.
The Shadow Mountain Branch Library offers the Summer Reading Program, Story Time, Read & Play, United through Reading and much more. Stop by today with your family to read some books or take part in activities.
The Personal Financial Management Program (PFMP) is a starting point for service members and their families to acquire financial management skills and consumer education. A PFM counselor works one-on-one with Marines, Sailors and family members to evaluate spending, develop budgets and explore answers to financial dilemmas. The PFM counselor also provides classes and training to commands, spouses and children of appropriate age.
Information & Referral with Relocation Services provides information from established federal, state and local agencies whose programs are available to assist service members and families with making smooth inbound and outbound moves. Our experienced staff will answer questions and direct you to appropriate resources both on and off base.
